Copyright on Youtube - music similarities

Post by T-Rex »

Hello,

I recently had some time to look at my Youtube video manager. And I found a copyright claim for this song on multiple of my videos.

Can you here the difference?

Here the song who got copyright claimed:

Arabic Prince - Youssef Guezoum
http://www.ournia.co/en/song/arabic-prince

And here the song you should know from the game for comparison:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rA0khi_ ... T&index=25

Im interested which song was composed first, but i couldnt find a year for Arabic Prince everywhere.

Well from ~0:45 onwards Arabic Prince is completely identical with the PW dustrider music. The only stuff I could find from Youssef Guezoum was 2009 or younger. Can you appeal the copyright claim and explain it's from a game (which we don't have the rights to but whatever)?

I contacted Youtube now with my issue. Let's see what they say.

Yes, I didnt found any stuff before 2009 from him too. But I hadnt found the year of this specific song as well.

Maybe they both copied something else?

If they did, then whatever they copied is probably not copyrighted on youtube.

UPDATE:

Well, they pulled back their copyright claim. I got no further information. End of the story

Another one:

I just saw they probably had done the same for alle the other videos with the same problem, too. Let's hope the same for future ones.

I had this exact issue with one video. Youtube was useless, so I contacted the record holder and got my channel white-listed by them.
