Infinite Resources With No Need to Expand

Post by OPSTF »

Anyone else figure out that from level 3+, you can phase out workers and only depend on your "trade units?" At about 15-20 traders traveling from one side of a base to another, you can call what you have "infinite resources." I personally think this ruins other mechanics of the game, but at least all the tribes can do it.

Yes but the enemy can kill the trade carts pretty easily (they dont have much HP and no protection). I think it is a good solution for later parts of the game where no one has won but there are no resources left to collect. It helps to build a warp gate to force a win against a turteling player too

those carts are expensive as heck. one costs like 500 food, it takes an eternity to collect enough food for 15 traders. and from that amount you could build 3 titans plus a few heavy cavalry units. and gaining resources through trade units is pretty slow until you have like an army of them. workers harvest a lot faster.

Well, I start with lots of carts. If you are playing with 10000 points, you can have all the carts you'll ever need, plus plenty of combat units. Yeah, they are useless until level three, but it sure beats making them all in game.

Yes that is indeed a feature of the game. And a good one! Trading carts are extremely expensive but rewarding.
