I recently got a new computer with Windows 7 on it.
I does install properly but when i try to run the game an error message pops up.
It says Paraworld Launcher has stopped working and i have 2 options:
Close the program or Check online for a solution and close the program.
But even when i click the last option it just closes and nothing happens.

I hope somebody can help me.

To get Paraworld running on Win7 do the following:

1. Install PW
2. Install Boosterpack 2.0
3. Install the Win7 Fix

For Win7 fix see below

I downloaded the programs and it still doesn't launch
I you find it usefull i could post the program details on the message.
Another thing that i find weird is that during the instalation they didn't ask for my key

you have not successfully installed win7fix.exe because then you could enter your cdkey. Please try again. If it still doesnt work, we can help you on http://www.para-welt.com/tavern/ (our chat) on monday evening

Hi, It seems I have the same problem here. I would like to install Paraworld for my kids because they enjoyed it very much a few years ago.
I followed the two steps and I could install boosterpack but I couldn't find the win7 fix. Is it possible that this isn't online anymore?
Any help would be great.

Sometimes the hoster seems to close for maintenance. Today the link works, I tested it some minutes ago

I finally found my old copy of Paraworld and it doesn't work because of Windows 7. And the fix download isn't working.

I tried the windows 7 fix on my pc, but my antivirus goes crazy as soon as I install it (even with an exeption for the file and the Paraworld folder) and normally it doesn't do that if nothing is wrong, so I think the file (from the link above) is infected.
Does anyone have acces to the original one?

I'm glad to say that the new file works perfect!
virustotal.com doesn't seem to detect anything within the old file, but my scanner (Bitdefender Total Security 2013) says it contains a virus (the new file is clean according to Bitdefender, so I think there's really a problem with the old one because I don't know how it's possible to give a false positive with one file, but not with an identical other file).
Anyway, the windows 7 fix works fine! Thanks for the quick reaction!

EDIT: I can also confirm that the fix works for Windows 8 too! Good news for anyone who's going to buy a new pc.

This is a problem with the heuretristic method of the anti-virus tool. There is no virus in this file. I cannot tell more about this topic for various legal reasons but there is nothing manipulated or edited in this file. We had a look into the content and it consists of officially updated files to make the game work on Win7. Because the game is still sold in modern updated versions like on gamersgate.com and on magazine dvds in several countries. Dont be afraid. This Win7fix file just updates the game to make it work on modern operating systems

You're propably right about the fact that it is my anti-virus tool, because it would be strange that I'm the first user to have problems after it's release.

EDIT: I did some extra research and it point's out it's propably a false positive. The scanner said 'MIDAS3' was the problem. Bitdefender told me that's a virus, but it's actually an algorythm that looks for suspicious behaviour, which sometimes has problems with recognising installers. If that's true, nothing is wrong with the original file.

Avira Antivir had so many false positives some years ago that they made parts of their engine optional. It was annoying for the user and AA did not find many viruses anyway. All these messages were basically suspicions Dont be afraid Have you already played the mods and/or the mappack by the way?
